Clear Cast Machine Pallet Wrap

Machine pallet wrap has many alternative names. It can be known as machine stretch wrap and machine stretch film. But in any case they all have the same purpose. Pallet wrap is one of the most commonly used products to maintain pallet load stability. Pallet wrap is a strong plastic film that is easily stretched around items, especially items on a pallet. The use of stretch wrap is vital so that businesses can ensure loads are adequality secure whilst being moved on public roads and around businesses. This includes when being moved in and out of storage in the warehouse to minimise the likelihood of whole loads or objects coming loose and falling. The elastic recovery of the wrap means that it keeps the items tightly bound, so that palletised items are stabile. Depending on your application, the micron of pallet wrap is extremely important. The micron is the thickness of the pallet wrap and is also often written as mu. Pallet wrap can be supplied into a food environment but not for direct contact with food. Machine pallet wrap is designed for users who operate pallet wrap machines. They are manufactured from high performance, high yield material. Used in conjunction with a machine it is one of the most ideal and secure ways to stabilise pallets. Great for high volume and continuous wrapping. Different types of stretch; Standard Stretch – At 150% stretch this film is a standard core break film, typically used on a standard/traditional core break pallet turntable wrapper. Medium Power Pre-Stretch – At 200% stretch this film is typically used on a turntable pre stretch pallet wrapper. Power Pre-Stretch – At 250% stretch this film is typically used on a turntable pre stretch pallet wrapper. The additional elongation compared to standard cast film provides improved yield, so a large volume can generate cost savings from film efficiency. Super Power Pre-stretch – At 300% stretch this film is typically used on a turntable pre stretch pallet wrapper. The additional elongation compared to standard cast film provides improved yield, so a large volume can generate cost savings from film efficiency. Type of core; Standard cores are flush cardboard cores, meaning only a tiny bit of the core sticks out at each end. All have a core diameter of 76mm. Different types of manufacture; Cast is produced by quickly cooling molten polymer in laminated layers. Naturally clingy on one side, only clinging to itself, therefore allowing the wrap to stay securely packaged without sticking to the next pallet. Cast film is generally low noise when releasing from the roll and clearer compared to blown film. This is the most commonly used for machine wrap. Blown is produced my melting polymer through a screw and blowing a bubble meters in the air to cool down. Made from tear and puncture resistant film with a tack coating to ensure a high 2-sided cling. Good quality blown film has more holding force meaning once applied it will not re-stretch. It is louder when releasing from the roll and not as clear as cast film. This is very rarely used for machine wrap. Pre-Stretched is a film which has already been stretched during the production process, meaning it requires less force when wrapping a pallet and less film is used. Recyclable. Produced from LLDPE (Linear-Low Density Polythene) stretch wrap falls under recycling code 4. LDPE can be recycled, however you will need to check with your Local Authority if this is something they recycle in your area. Coloured films; Clear film is the most popular and commonly used. Black film is designed to stop your goods from being identified once they are on your pallet, should they be valuable or sensitive. The coloured film will also offer UV protection to wrapped goods. Blue film is commonly used in food packaging, and used to distinguish food from other non-food pallets. The blue tint is instantly recognisable in the food industry as a non-food item, as there are no food products that are naturally blue in colour. The expansive range, nature and importance of pallet wrap, means it can be a confusing process when choosing it.
